Tucked away near the Moreau River, the Whitehorse Lodge stretches out across the prairie. Located in the heart of the native prairie and prairie dog towns approximately 50 miles from the East River Lodge, taking you back to the old west of the Dakota Territories. If the hills and bluffs could speak they would tell you of early settler’s, how native Americans lived and hunted, with names like Custer, Cody, and Bullock all here many years ago. The history is almost haunting, but yet magical, it’s a special place. Here too hunters and guests will have a private room and bath, the dining room and old west saloon create the perfect watering hole. Coyotes howl at night under the big sky of western South Dakota, the stars go on forever, much like the imagination of what this land is all about.
